The Chapter meets bi-monthly with a dinner meeting on the first Saturday of each even-numbered month.

Chapter Highlights . . .

  • 1998 recipient of the Dr. James M. Edwards Distinguished Chapter Award for the Best Chapter in the Confederation

  • Awarded the Capt. John Morton Newsletter Recognition Award for the Best Chapter newsletter in the Confederation in 1996 and again in 2006; second place in the Confederation in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2005

  • Received the "Turner J. Fakes Award" for the Best Chapter Scrapbook in the Confederation in 2006, 2007 and 2010; second place in the Confederation in 2005, 2008 and 2009

  • The Chapter has adopted and maintains five Confederate infantry Brigade markers, A. P. Hill's Headquarters marker, Carter's Battery marker, the monument of the 11th Mississippi Infantry Regiment and the state monuments of Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia at the Gettysburg National Military Park

  • Saturday, February 6 Garnett-Pettigrew MOSB Meeting - cancelled due to weather - Our scheduled program, Terry Hurst speaking on "Jefferson Davis", will be rescheduled for later in the year.

  • Saturday, March 27 - Garnett-Pettigrew MOSB Meeting - [Because the following weekend is Easter, the April meeting will be held a week earlier than normal.] - Joe Clark will talk will be about his ancestor Walter Clark. Walter Clark was Lt. Colonel of the 70th Regiment, NC Junior Reserves. He was later the editor of North Carolina Regiments and a NC Supreme Court Judge.
