Chapter Highlights . . .
On September 30, 2004, the CS Ram
Albemarle Chapter was chartered in Plymouth. After almost two years of
planning by Past Commander General Albert Jones, Jr. and Harry Thompson, the
NC Society finally welcomed the Plymouth Chapter into the Society.
In keeping with the Chapter’s
habit of meeting in historical homes and buildings, the Charter Banquet was
held in the Lathem House, one of the oldest and grandest homes in Plymouth.
Commander General Dan Jones and NC Society Commander Bob Owens presented the
Charter to PCG Jones. Then each Charter Member present signed the Charter.
The Chapter chartered with
ten members and the potential for 25-30 additional members and should soon
become one of our largest chapters.
The Charter Members are: PGC
Jones; Harry Thompson; Chris Grimes; Bob Grimes; Peter Roscoe, Walter White,
Edward Harding, Philip Morris and Richard VanDorn. Most were able to attend
the Charter Banquet.
Special invited guests included: Commander General Dan
Jones, NC Society Commander Bob Owens, Assistant Adjutant General George
Valsame, and NC Society Chief of Staff Charles Hawks.
All were treated to a fantastic “home cooked” meal by
the owners of the Lathem House, Sue and Joe Pate, and later heard an
interesting program on the chapter’s namesake by chapter member Harry
Thompson.
